Moanalua Freeway (H201) Ewa bound immediately after the Puuloa Road/Tripler Hospital overpass a HPD solo bike, marked and or unmarked patrol car can be spotted on the right shoulder of the freeway. They are parked on the Puuloa Road on ramp just before it merges with the freeway Ewa bound lanes. Sometimes they are parked on the on ramp at the end of the concrete wall and sometimes they are park on the on ramp behind the concrete wall with a chain link fence on top. The area where the on ramp merges with the freeway is poorly lit making it difficult to see them from a distance a night. HPD can be seen in this spot trying to tag Ewa bound cars on any given day of the week at night starting around 8 p.m. until the late night and early morning hours. Speed limit on the freeway at the Puuloa Road/Tripler Hospital overpass is 50 mph, watch your speed as you approach the Puuloa Road/Tripler Hospital overpass heading Ewa bound. A HPD patrol car was spotted on the Puuloa Road on ramp to the Moanalua Freeway Ewa bound lanes on 03/04/2014 at around 9:45 p.m. tagging and citing drivers.

Moanalua Freeway (201) Ewa bound Ft. Shafter/Ahua St. exit

Moanalua, HawaiiJul 21, 20131 Comments

Ewa bound on Moanalua freeway (H201) at or immediately after the Ft. Shafter/Ahua St. exit (Exit 4) there is usually a solo bike or a patrol car (marked or unmarked) parked on the right shoulder. Sometimes they are parked on the paved median where the Ft. Shafter/Ahua St. exit begins. Other times they are parked after the exit on the grass shoulder behind some bushes. They are there on any given day of the week during night to late night (starting at around 8 pm) and early morning hours (12 am to pass 4 am). Speed limit in this area is 50 mph. Since the portion of the freeway entering this area is at a wide right hand bend and slightly down hill, it is easy to do 65+ mph and not see them until you get out of the bend when it’s too late. Watch your speed heading Ewa bound on Moanalua freeway when you pass the airport and Middle St. exits.

Interstate Moanalua Freeway H201 near Puuloa Road overpass – Airport/Tripler Hospital exit Street

Moanalua, HawaiiSep 05, 20081 Comments

Moanalua Freeway (H201) town bound just before you approach the Puuloa Road overpass or the Tripler Hospital/Airport exit (Exit 3), the freeway will go into a left hand bend. The overpass and exit are located right after the bend. A HPD patrol car is usually parked on the grass area off the left paved shoulder of the freeway immediately after the overpass and slightly behind the overpass support. This makes it a little difficult to spot them until the last minute unless you really look hard. They are usually there at around 8 p.m., late night, and early morning hours on any given day of the week. On occassion a HPD solo bike can also be spotted on the left paved shoulder of the freeway beneath the overpass at the same hours including day time hours on any given day of the week. Speed limit in this area is 50 mph, but coming down from Red Hill town bound you could easily go past that. A HPD patrol car has been spotted on the grass area at 7:50 p.m. on 9-03-2008 and on previous occassions. Watch your speed as you approach the left hand bend before the Puuloa Road overpass and Tripler Hospital/Airport exit (Exit 3).
