Adel, Iowa Speed Traps

In the mornings before school, a police car is often seen sitting behind the hill after the 45mph sign. Be careful to regulate your speeds because at this point, as the limit is switching from 45 to 35 mph.

Also, at night, a police car sits with its lights off in the parking lot of the supermarket at the entrance of Adel. Don’t let the hill force you to accelerate. Keep braking until you’re 35 or below.

City police will sit on the north side of the Highway parrallel to Hwy 6 on the shoulder (it is actually the county maitence shed’s driveway). The road goes from 45 to 35 to 25 in a matter of 40 feet. Best to stay close to 30mph as you cross the bridge.
