State Route US 231 near COLLEGE Street   Vincent, Alabama

Policeman wears tight blue jeans with a gun strapped to his leg.Theres a fruit stand at this intersection and the officer was out of his car looking at vegetables ,when I went by at 50 MPH ( my fault! it WAS a 35 MPH zone) well anyway since he was out of his car , he blew a whistle , I immediately slowed down and had my back window splattered by a ripe tomato.

US Highway 231 near Raley Street   Vincent, Alabama

Officers sit on US 231 near Raley St in a 35mph zone and will stop anyone driving over 45mph. This is a long straight road and 35mph is an outragous speed limit. Half of the time the officers are driving well over the speed limit.

US Highway 231 near Vincent Fire Station   Vincent, Alabama

Officers sit near the Bellsouth building just inside a 35 mph zone. They write anything over 12 mph. And you better make sure you have an insurance card also.

U.S. 231   Vincent, Alabama

The Vincent Police Department obviously exists for the purpose of generating revenue through writing speeding tickets. The main drag through town is U.S. 231 and you especially need to watch them once you enter the 35 MPH zone which extends most of the way through town. They don't care who they write up either so don't expect a break. Revenue, Revenue, Revenue.

Kelley Creek Rd (Shelby County Hwy. 60)   Vincent, Alabama

This road is used by many people traveling to Logan Martin Lake. The 40 MPH extends to far out from their city proper.It is completely wooded and is beyond any houses adjacent to the road. The police have recently been using a private vehicle with no markings, only a portable blue light on the dash, no radar, no following to clock you. They write your speed up using only their estimate which is usually high. They have also stopped lone females in this wooded area using this unmarked vehicle.
