Beach Park, Illinois Speed Traps

Lake Co. sheriff’s deputies park in the driveways of Our Lady of Humility church 1/2 mile west from Sheridan and 1 mile east of Lewis. Speed limit in 35mph and it is easy to speed coming down small hill. Speed limit in 45 on Lewis. Lack of significant cross roads make it easy to speed.

Lake County Sherriff Dept. patrolls up anddown Beach Road all the time.They sit on side streets where you can’t see them. Mainly road near the cemetary. Also watch for them on Sheridan Road again near Beach Road. No warnings – only tickets.

On holiday weeks and Weekends police are very strict on speeding. On holiday weekends, police set up a "Check Point" in the parking lot of the strip mall located on the southeast side of Lewis Ave. Avoid if possible.
