You go over a pipe bridge with speed limit at 70mph-right after you get off, I mean right after, the state trooper is waiting and says the speed limit changes to 55mph right after you get off the bridge and that there are 2-3 signs on the bridge telling you about the speed change. I have now been back that way three times and neither I nor my sister have seen any such signs and the posted 55mph sign is about 200ft. from the bridge. I had to pay $142 for 70mph in a 55mph zone. The state trooper lied but there is noway to argue with them and we were in a hurry for an appointment at Tulane Hospital in New Orleans, not to mention it is a one-way two lane highway and no easy turnaround in the swampy area to go back and look for those signs. They wanted $169.00 but I got a reduced fee for filing an Article 814 with the DA’s office in ST. Charles Parish so the ticket won’t show on my insurance.
