Walnut Street near Madison Street

Genoa, IllinoisSep 12, 20080 Comments

In the Oak Creek subdivision adjoining to Ellwood Greens; on Walnut street just as you enter the subdivision there’s a farm house. Officers will park in the long driveway behind a large pine tree. It is impossible to see them when driving out of the subdivision and when driving north bound on Madison street. From this parking point they are able to radar your speed when traveling east or west on Walnut street coming in or out of the subdivision and north and south on Madison street. Speeding is not tolerated at this corner! This is a four way stop and officers are also very quick to hand out tickets for loud music and not making a complete stop.

State Route 23 near Derbyline Road

This a four way stop at Rt23 and Derby line rd. On Rt.23 officers sit on the south-east side of the road. They can be seen there daily. The speed limit on Rt.23 is 45mph. Watch you’re speed when you’re driving south bound over the bridge by 84 Lumber you can’t see them until you get over the bridge. Traveling North bound on Rt.23 most people don’t realize the speed limit reduces to 45mph about two blocks before the stop sign. Look for the speed limit sign and reduce your speed or you will get a ticket. This is also one of the best intersections in Genoa to get a ticket for not making a complete stop.
