Golf, Illinois Speed Traps

Officers sit in unmarked cars on Overlook Drive and strictly enforce the 20 MPH speed limit. They have also been using aircraft in what appears to be a joint sting operation with neighboring Glenview, IL. I’ve seen numerous cars pulled over with many tickets written for 10 MPH over the limit.

Almost every Sunday morning on my way to church, I see a Golf Police car parked either in the empty car dealership lot or the Avon parking lot watching for cars coming from the east coming out of the railroad underpass. This is usually between 7:45 and 8:30 a.m. Since there isn’t a lot of traffic, people do go above the limit on Golf (40 mph limit)

On Golf Rd near Waukegan usually in the Infiniti lot (now out of business). Speed limit drops going westbound from 45 to 30. The village of Golf admits that they pay the entire police force with speeding tickets.
