Speed limits on US-283 radically change from 65mph to 30mph as you enter the town and have an increase from 30mph to 65mph as you leave the town without any decreasing/increasing speed limits in between. There is a deputy that likes to sit by the grain silo’s at the south end of the town and tag out of state people. Though it is natural to increase your speed from 30mph toward 65mph as you approach the sign, there is no grace given to out of state people.
