Local police hide in various locations (grave yard,grocery store parking lot,church parking lot,etc.,etc.)along Rt. 130 thru town.Have been known to fabricate reasons to stop vehicles.If you pass thru town between 11:00 p.m. & 2:00 a.m. expect to be tailed if not stopped.Police take great pride in their numerous DUI arrests & city enjoys the revenue.

The Villa Grove city police like to sit just to the South of Paul’s Machine and Welding between it and the school. They shoot radar through a chainlink fence and it makes them very difficult to see, especially when coming into town from the north. This happens at all times of day but is most frequent in the afternoon, before 3 and at night after 10.
