Washington, Illinois Speed Traps

Cops sit in the parking lot @ the middle school. Speed limit drops suddenly from 45 to 30 mph and they snag people there all the time.

Driving either direction on School St to Centennial. The block north of School St is only 30mph and not posted well. Cops seem to make up a number for your speed and tend to write them 20mph more than you were going so they’ll hold up in traffic court.

The police (State, County, and City) will sit on the overpass utilizing radar and lidar to catch speeders going in both directions. They have done this for both early morning and late afternoon drive times. This will happen as frequently as two or more times per week.
