Rodessa, Louisiana Speed Traps

Was going north Hwy 1, Noticed a gray police unit parked at Fire department.
While I was passing the fire station I noticed the cop inside pointing a speed gun toward cars outside of the city limits.
I did not really think nothing of it till I was about 2 miles out of the city limits sign I was being stopped by the cop. He told me I was speeding 58 in a 55 and that he was not going to write me a ticket but I need to watch my speed going through Rodessa. After he left I thought well he was going way more than 3 over that he said I was speeding just to catch up with. Sooo who was really breaking the Law.

Police are stopping motorist for doing 2 over speed limit, The speed limit sign drops from 55 mph to 45 mph almost without warning. The 45 mph sign is not seen till you go over a hill and just at the bottom where it is to late to slow down.
The police hide within trees, bushes, and behind buildings not seen. They hide in the dark of night with all vehicle lights off.

Rodessa has 45 MPH Limit posted well before you arrive in the small village. It is easy to drive beyond the speed limit and the cops love it when you do. If you come into the area from the north, you are going downhill at 55 MPH when the speed limit changes so it is tricky. From the south, the speed limit changes in a curve, so it is not quite as tricky but it can slip up on you. Just be careful when you travel Hwy 1 between Vivian, LA and Atlanta, TX.
