Under the overpass of Robert D. Orr Hwy on US-41

Evansville, IndianaJan 11, 20190 Comments

There is usually a trooper sitting under the overpass cloverleaf in the median facing north, and another trooper facing north on the west side of US-41 south of the overpass. They have been there almost every day when I go to and from work. There is construction from the overpass all the way down south to the Sinclair gas station so it makes it even more dangerous when they do pull someone over.

Police sit in golf course parking lot behind picnic area. You have to accelerate up the hill and when you crest you gain speed, and there he is.

On I-164 between Lloyd Expressway & Lynch

Evansville, IndianaJul 18, 20120 Comments

Interstate speeds are 60 mph. Most traps are initiated by an officer on a motorcycle. It’s easier to be discreet on the bike. No school zones, no construction. I have not seen any accidents or individuals put at risk due to speeding on I-164. I have seen some near-misses. This is a speed trap due to the fact that it is not for anyone’s protection.

City police sit by the trees in Droste’s parking lot in the morning. Drivers going south on Green River Rd. are being stopped every day.

Hwy 62 East and West between Mt Vernon and Evansville Indian

Evansville, IndianaJan 25, 20110 Comments

Just east of the West Franklin power plant over pass before the stoplight at the St Phillips Rd intersection state troopers and county sheriff’s deputies will pull over in the median. They usually face East. Drivers coming in from the west are particularly vulnerable since the hill they crest gives the officers a great place to hide from them. Westbound traffic is not as vulnerable except at night when they will sit their with no lights on.
