State Highway 54 near US Highway 59
The police set off 54 highway west of Moran, where the speed limit changes to 45mph. You must also be aware of the 30 mph through town on 59 highway for almost a mile. Take extra precaution when the school light is blinking on 59 also, it changes to 20mph at that time. He will be setting by the library facing north at that time, or at the Dairy Spot facing south with radar in hand.

Actually this is one of them any time speed traps, night or day. The city has both US 54 & US 59 in their limits. The two officers spend almost their entire shifts on traffic stops. Stopping another vehicle within minutes after clearing from one. They also share information with the LaHarpe cops since that city is about 6 miles west of Moran.

Local Marshal sits on gas station parking lots. Never writes tickets to locals, just the poor saps passing through. Fines are consistent with the rest of the state. Doesn’t give warnings, just big tickets.
