Overland Park, Kansas Speed Traps

Slow down on the slight right turn just after the Nall & Roe exit! An O.P. cop or State Trooper will sit on the shoulder, perpendicular to the freeway traffic, right at the start of the exit ramp to Metcalf. Usually during and just after the morning rush hour, someone will be sitting here nabbing people.

Do not go more than 45 MPH through here! At the bottom of the hill going southbound on Antioch toward I-435, a cop usually sits in the small golf course parking lot just before the bridge over Indian Creek. Also, a cop will often sit at the entrance of an apartment complex after the bridge, but just before the I-435 intersection. If going northbound on Antioch, immediately after the I-435 intersection, a cop will be sitting at a small street corner off to the right side. Also, just beyond the street and across the bridge, one more spot that cops like to hide is at the entrance to a white golf course maintenance building just past the bridge and directly across the street from the parking lot.

OP Police department regularly sitting on 132nd street on east side of the hill after you go over 69 Highway (no danger to people on 69). There is an unfinished street entry to the Travelers parking lot on the south side of the road where officers sit daily to nab people coming east over the hill and picking up speed on the way down. Afternoon seems to be their favorite time to sit there.

Westbound traffic on West 151st Street about 800 ft before you reach Metcalf, there is a 35 mph speed limit sign posted. The police sit in the driveway of the car wash and get a reading at the exact spot of the sign. The speed limit before that sign is 45mph, this makes it difficult to not be speeding when the radar reading is taken. Police ethics in this situation is very questionable.
