Weir, Kansas Speed Traps
the detour road through town (Hiway 400 detour)
Oct 23, 2012 : I was driving East on Hiway 400 and there were signs for a detour through Weir, Kansas. I followed the signs and thought the speed limit was 30. Barnie Fife was sitting by the side of the road with his radar gun aimed at this street. He immediately pulled me over and said I was going 30 in a 20 MPH area. I’ve never heard of a main street in town with a 20 MPH speed limit. The cop apparently doesn’t know how to fill out a ticket either because important info was left off such as date and time. I may contest this ticket because of missing info on the ticket. The ticket was $146.00 including court costs.

Pulls you over for doing 2MPH over the speed limit. This is a town you could ride your horse down the middle of the street (and some do) and not see a car for hours. A bit of a smart ass. City is hurting for money and he is their answer to a tax increase.
