Southbound Causeway Bridge. Police standing without a car in sight at a transformer building on the side of the bridge shooting laser at southbound traffic. The police with cars and flashing lights are waiting about 1 mile down to welcome you. I saw 3 people at one time get stopped. My radar/laser detector did not even beep.

State trooper sits in a small alcove at the intersection and he can’t be seen till you’re right upon him.

Pruden Rd. & Pamela Dr.

Covington, LouisianaApr 26, 20100 Comments

Covington Police park in the double driveway there and wait for you to come around the curve. You don’t see them until it’s too late. They said that they were patrolling in response to resident complaints which was all too true. If you’re exceeding the 25 mph speed limit, slow down on Pruden coming off of Hwy 190 W (Ronald Regan Hwy) or risk a very expensive ticket. Some people regularly exceed 40 mph on that stretch. I never exceed 27-28 mph now since I do not want to get a $200+ speeding ticket but there are those who just haven’t been caught yet who will eventually enrich Covington’s coffers. The speeding continues to be a problem on that road.
