Crowley, Louisiana Speed Traps
Interstate 10 from exit 80 to mile marker 84
Interstate speed is set at 70 MPH. If headed west, at mile marker 84 speed changes to 60 with law enforcement hiding behind overpass on west bound side. If headed east, speed changes at mile post 79 before elevated bridge. Generally, there are at least two patrol officers in this area that are hidden from driver’s view until driver reaches top of bridge. This occurs at least five days a week. They are not there to enforce the law, they are there specifically to write speeding tickets to further enhance the budget of the local administration. One officer stated to me that he was mandated to write at least 10 tickets during an eight hour shift and that many of the tickets were pre-filled with court dates, dates of occurrences and locations in order to speed up the filling in of the information.

On I-10 Anywhere Near Town
LEO likes to sit behind overpass on Interstate and run rear radar for cars coming up behind him. Local LEO, polite, but only interested in giving speeding tickets on the Interstate.

I was driving at night and there are barely any lights down this road. The cop was on the opposite side of the road with all his lights off.
