Provencal, Louisiana Speed Traps

As you are heading north on HWY 117, the speed limit drops from 55 mph to 40 mph to 30 mph in a matter of a little over 100 feet. It is next to impossible to simple slow to the correct speed, and the cop who is usually sitting off to the right in church parking lot just behind the 30 mph sign is ready and eager to oblige any and everyone with a little paperwork. No mercy here. Pay one, pay all.

The small town of provencal has a speed change from 55-35 all within a short distance coming into town. They will sit on the south side of town on either side of the road and when you hit the 35 you better not be speeding because it is to late by the time you see them.
