State troopers have really stepped up enforcement of speeding, and have roped in parish officers to do so, even though they would rather fight crime than hand out speeding tickets.

It seems officers are every mile with radar, aircraft, and unmarked cars to get you. They claim it’s to change people’s attitudes about driving this road, but they’re definitely pulling in a lot of revenue.

Avoid I-12 in St. Tammany if you can; however, if you have to drive it, play it real safe.

Sits on the neutral groung facing the lake in the dark spot. They will get you mainly as you come over the overpass toward the lake, but they can still get you coming out of the 45 MPH zone.
