The officer pulled me over after he observed me trying to get over into the slow lane to allow a speeding vehicle to pass. He then pulled out and casually rode and then decided to stop me. I told him that I thought the speed was 75 and that I was only trying to get over to the slow lane. He said the speed changes when you get into Louisiana and that I was doing 80 in a 70 zone. I know for fact I was doing 75. The officer was rude about it and offered no other reason when there were cars passing and shaking my vehicle from there speeds.

Exit 4, 7 and 8 on I-10; entire town as well

Cops here are on the prowl to a greater extent since its share of highway dollars is being reduced by the state so they will need to increase volume of writeups. This bump in the road may actually be growing with the addition of a couple of new businesses on Highway 90 through town, but a large part of the city’s income is derived from traffic fines. Also, it appears they have increased enforcement on municipal streets as they probably get to keep all of that. Keying in on “rolling stops” and other minor mistakes. Watch speeds on access ramps on and off highway as well. Not a pleasant bunch to deal with so don’t expect any southern gentility.

Hides near overpass close to Texas border. Seems to target out of state cars. Believe using higher number then actually on radar to make fine higher.

Speed limit goes from 55 to 40 in short distance. "Reduce speed " sign 100 yds from 40mph sign.
