State Highway Seward near Mile Marker 12

Seward, AlaskaSep 18, 20063 Comments

The Alaska State troopers (multiple vehicles), travel around Seward (I saw them in the radius of 25 miles) and catch unsuspecting visitors. I found only visitors being stopped and harassed (you can tell by the rental cars & agency signs). The road is very scenic with lots of overlook places. Also the road changes from 2 lane to one lane (in one direction), I was caught while merging as I increased the speed to pass one vehicle and let it merge. The trooper was coming from the opposite direction (travelling in a Chevy SUV) and I’m not sure how he was able to judge my speed! Anyway he said he clocked me at 73 on a 55 mile limit, I think I was only doing a 63 (was on cruise for 57 all along).

I think its a big trap to get money for the local community – unfortunately most of the business in the town depends on visitors!
