Danvers, Massachusetts Speed Traps
Danvers DPW – 95 Hobart Street
Cruisers park in the driveway of the Dept. of Public Works garage; it’s on a slight hill, the speed limit is 25 MPH along the entire length of Hobart Street.
Wenham St at Juniper Ridge Rd
This is a common speed trap because Wenham Street seems like it should be 35 Mph, but it is 25 instead. They sit at Juniper Ridge Rd off Wenham and just wait. I’ve seen up to 3 vehicles at once pulled over; that’s how fast they can rack them up at this location.
Corner of Locust St. (Rt. 35) and Anthony Lane
Danvers Police sit on Anthony Lane (on right) and wait for you to go over
35 mph on Locust St. There is a "downhill" just before Anthony Lane and
when you coast down the hill at any speed over 35, they get you with the
radar gun and you get ticketed for speeding on Rt. 35.
Andover Street near MacArthur Boulevard
This guy likes to sit at the edge of the Ford (?) / RV lot, aiming at traffic headed towards Peabody from Route 1.
Endicott Street near State Highway 128 N
Danvers police in unmarked cars will tail gate, and at each light (there are 7 on Endicott St), when u are "stopped" at a red light they flash there high beams to give you the perception of a motorist behind you in a hurry. This method was done on me for three consecutive lights until I reached the liht by Dennys at 128 overpass, and I was pulled over as I traveled through the green light. I was going two (2) miles below the speed limit with fear at 1:30 a.m. there was a idiot flashing lights behind me. Officer "stoney", as we all know explained to me this is a "new" speed trap, and If I do not want a ticket get the "h—" home. I travel this road for two years early morning hours after my shift ends at 1:00 a.m
I was pulled over by this speed trap 5 times in three months, and hired a lawyer and went to court, as for I was never over the speed limit.
