Hampden Street near Arlington Street

While traveling from Pleasant St to Northampton St it is 30 mph. The stretch of road is tempting to go at least 40 especially to catch the light. The police hide on the side streets with radar.

Locals run laser on stretch between K-mart and mall. They hide behind tree and step out to shoot the laser. If your detector reads ‘laser’ and you’re speeding you have a ticket!

Interstate 391 near Exit Number 39849

Going North or South bound on I391 – Speed trap on the southbound side is more common – After you come out of Holyoke busy road and they seem to score a lot of tickets. Watch out during good weather and "Quota time" end of the month, Mostly during the work week and in the PM Rush hour, But I have seen them out in the morning sometimes.

State Route 202 near Mountain Road

Cruisers like to back their cars in by the Resovoir mid way going down the hill so they can take off in either direction at a moments notice. Back in 1982 radar pulled me and 5 other drivers over. The other drivers were men and me the only woman. I argued he couldn’t clock all 5 vehicles going over the limit of 45 mph as we’d be on each others rear end. Result: we were all let go. Not one man opened his mouth to fight the almost tickets we would get. I was the only woman who opened her mouth and said something and officer didn’t know what to say so he told us all to go.

Interstate 91 near Exit Number 17 – 20

Holyoke, MassachusettsJun 16, 20060 Comments

The area between Springfield, MA and Greenfield,MA on I91 North & South motorists should be especailly careful and not exceed the posted speed limit. The worse area is from Exit 17 (near Holyoke, MA) to Exit 20 (North Hampton,MA). The state police seem to significantly patrol (swarm) in those areas. Stated speed limits seem to be strictly enforced. State police will follow you, use laser or radar to catch drivers. Police seem to like holiday weekends and Thursday-Saturday nights to setup numerous traps in that area. Just because you have passed a car pulled over, there maybe many more traps ahead.
