Going down the hill on E.Bacon St towards Messenger St

Plainville, MassachusettsSep 30, 20100 Comments

E.Bacon St is a very steep hill (posted speed limit is a ridiculous 30 mph). A police cruiser is often sitting on the side of the road on Messenger St. Ready to give you tickets on not only speeding, but going through stop sign.

If you are going north on RT 1 and you at the intersection of RT 1 (Washington St.) and 106 (East Bacon Street), this trap is at the bottom of the hill across from the Plainville Truck Stop Citgo station and on the same side of the road as The Tavern. The police officer is usually located before the billboard hidden by trees.

When traveling Route 1 North heading through plainville, when you get to the top of the hill, you see a traffic light. It’s usually green at night time. I travel that road 5 nights a week after midnight and usually 4 out of 5 times, I see a cop sitting on the right side of the road in the shadows ready to come after people that come flying over the top of the hill. He comes after you with his lights off. People have no idea where he came from because they’re already down the other side of the hill when he comes after them. I’ve been traveling this route with my job for about 8 or 9 months now, and a cop being there is pretty consistent at the night time hours. He won’t be there during the day because you can see him completely.

On either side of the road there are little turn-outs. Motorcycle cop sits on the north side turnout with handheld radar gun. Posted speed limit is 40mph, and sign is about a mile back. Very easy to be doing 45-50mph as it is a slight downward sloping straightaway.
