Sharon, Massachusetts Speed Traps

This is recent (as of 12/07/13) When passing the Sharon Middle School parking lot, 2 police cars park parallel to one another in a smaller section of the lot that is nearly impossible to see going either way. If you are facing the middle school from the road, they will be on the left. ALSO near this area, there is a speed trap usually in that little semi-road that you will find in front of the crosswalk nearest to the school. The crosswalk is located in this general area: when heading towards the dirt road in sharon woods, this crosswalk is the one directly after passing the middle school. Basically, go slow all of the time passing the middle school

Coming from US RTE 1 across Inter-State 95 over-pass and just past Moose Hill Road there is a tough to see dirt road on the right on which cops use radar to catch speeders. The speed limit here is 35 MPH, but most are going too fast after coming off RTE 1 and crossing the IS-95 overpass. Many drivers tend to maintain about 45 to 50 mph speed on this stretch.

On Ames Street heading toward Pond Street on the right side just after the temple, the police hide behind bushes. You never see them until they wave you over. The speed limit is 20. Very hard to go that slow on a street that most cars travel about 30-35. I was stopped and told I was going 31. I got a warning. Other people tell me they were not so lucky. There are many alternate routes. Just avoid this street at this section.

They will sit in the driveway to the school, or pulled over in the stretch between Wolomopaug St and the school. Even pulled over, they are hard to see.

This one is only at night.

The cop sits in Rock Ridge Cemetary and can nab you coming either way on East Street. he generally is looking for cars traveling towards Mountain street. SLOW DOWN after passing Ames street to avaid this one. Speed limit is 30 MPH but I average 45 safely..caught once but got a warning.
