Rt. 97 at Fire Station
Police park in Fire Station parking lot and use radar to check downhill traffic (northbound rt 97) speed limit is 25 but easy to speed. You cannot see the police until it’s too late.
Asbury St. at the Hamilton Topsfield Line
When traveling west on Asbury St. in Hamilton, just past the Green Meadows farm stand on the left is the town line entering Topsfield. The speed limit on the Hamilton side is 35mph. The speed limit on the Topsfield side is 25mph. The Topsfield Police love this cash cow location to write citations as you don’t realize the speed limit has dropped 10mph til they get you on radar as you cross the town line. They set up the cruiser in the driveway at the bottom of the hill on the left.
State Highway Rt 1 near Topsfield Fairgrounds
Driving north on Rt.1, when cresting the long hill going towards the fairgrounds, watch your downhill speed as it’s very easy to exceed the posted limit if you don’t do some braking. Cruiser with radar usually at the bottom of the hill hidden off to the side. Always there at night!
All major roads through town, Boxford Rd, Washington St, Haverhill Rd, Ipswich Rd
Depending of the amount of time they have, enforcement can be sporadic to intense. Usually mobile, setting up around town at all roads mentioned. Weekly newspaper will list dozens of citations issued from each setup.
