Interstate 68 near Exit Number 4

I was driving westbound. There’s an onramp a bit past Exit 4 to Friendsville, which the trooper used to access the highway and pull me over. He clocked me at 81 mph in a 65 and wrote me up for 74 mph. He said it was the lowest fine he could issue… $80. A month or so later I was eastbound around the same time of day and saw 3 staties in cruisers hangin’ out side-by-side in one of the emergency turnarounds in the median. This appears to be a stereotypcial revenue-driven speedtrap. It’s just 2 or 3 miles from the West Virginia border where the speed limit goes up to 70 mph.

My family and I were going on Vacation to Ocean City. We had just entered Maryland by the town of Friendsville, and we were pulled over by three state troopers that were on the side of the road. It was an unfair position because they were right at the bottom of a hill, around the bend so that you couldn’t see them.

State troopers with laser monitoring both east and westbound.
