Country Line Road

Cement City, MichiganAug 31, 20160 Comments

Vicary Road with a speed limit of 55 MPH turns into Country Line Road with a limit of 25 MPH then to Cement City Road with a limit of 55 MPH again.
Signs for the 25 MPH speed limit are somewhat hidden as other signs distract drivers attention such as the blue and white masonic temple sign as you enter town and a large billboard that lists the businesses within the town and other information is posted 3-5 feet in front of a speed limit sign.

Police tag motorists as soon as they approach the second sign indicating the speed drop from 55 to 25 MPH.

Cop sits on the vacant lot by the 3 way stop by the school. He clocks people coming up the hill where the speed limit changes from 55 to 25. Also pulls people over for looking at his car.

Patrol Car sits along the west side of Woodstock St. facing north towards the village, at the bottom of a hill. This area is posted 25mph from Vicary Rd. to Little Goose Lake.

US-127 near Vicary & Lewis Rd.

Cement City, MichiganNov 06, 20020 Comments

Heading Northbound on US-127 just past the New Jerusalem Church. The 2-lane highway opens up to 4-lanes for passing on both sides, then returns to a 2-lane highway. The Jackson County Sherriff and Michigan State Police like to set up a trap in this passing lane. They use the "wolf-pack" method; one unmarked car (of any make/model, have seen Ford Taurus, Chevy S-10, Dodge Durango, Mercury Villager, Pontiac Grand Am…) will sit backed off the road with a laser gun and shoot the oncoming traffic. Motorists are unaware because the car is just a normal car. After he shoots you, when you reach the next side road, the wolf-pack will come out at you immediately. Normally this is set up for the AM rush hour, but have also seen it in the PM rush hour as well.
