State Highway M-137 near Interlochen Arts & Village Barber
The county and state police like to sit in the parking lot of the Village Barber at night and in the grass on the west side of M-137 just north of the entrance to the arts academy.They also tend to sit in Ric’s Foodcenter parking lot at night. They also patrol the strech of M-137 and Karlin Rd on a regular basis as speed limits vary in this area.
Youker Road near Steep Hill
County police car usually parked on unpaved side road East of State Park Highway at the bottom of the very steep hill on Youker. Between the spectacular view, steep hill, and very little, if any, traffic, you don’t tend to watch your speed that will increase as you go down the hill on Youker between County Road 633 and State Route 137 (Karlin Road).
State Highway M-137 near Pine Street
The county sheriff sits on the west side of M-137 between Pine St and The entrance to The state park. They are usually in the grass tight to the treeline. There are regular patrols in this area. It’s a 45 MPH zone. I have seen them there at all times of the day. Weekends especially.
