Cops like to sit on the overpass at exit 242 in Black Canyon City.
They also sit on the on ramps heading either North or South with the radar. You can’t see them…. period!

Interstate 17 Southbound near North and South of Table Mesa
AZ Highway Patrol likes to lurk on left side of road, at places where they can’t be seen and at an angle so your radar detector doesn’t detect them until the last minute. The speed limit is 75 there and they seem to be looking only for serious speeders. (Black Canyon – Yavapai County)

Interstate 17 near Exit Number 244
The predominant method of enforcement is K/Ka band Radar usage by AZ DPS and occasionally Yavapai County Sheriffs Office (YCSO). Most of the time they enforce the speed limit on the southbound traffic of I-17 just prior to the first exit (#244) for Black Canyon City as you hit the crest of a small rise.

AZ DPS will normally sit under the over pass or at the ON ramps of this exit and K/KA band Radar you from behind. Additionally if you see Orange Cones at the On ramp and beyond Watch OUT. They are doing time and distance on you and any detector won’t help you.
