Richland, Michigan Speed Traps

The entire square mile of Richland is a police trap. They even will time how long cars stay at the pub and pull them over if they stay very long, just ask the local Priest. The average age for an officer here is 20 years old, and they work alone!!! BEWARE THEY ARE CREAM OF THE CROP!

As you are leaving Richland on 32nd St by the Township offices headed toward the ball field , you will be stopped if you speed up before you reach the 55 MPH sign.

When heading east on D Avenue, headed toward the Village of Richland, the speed limit is 45mph. Once you reach the outskirts of the Village, the speed limit drops down to 25mph. The police sit inside the Village limits, or just outside, waiting for somebody to come speeding into the Village at 45mph. I’ve found if you’re headed into town (Eastward bound) you’ll just get a warning but, if you’re headed out of the Village (Westward bound) they’ll stop you and give you a ticket just prior to reaching the 45mph sign! Do not speed in the Village of Richland as they’ll get you every time.

32nd street speed limit is 55mph traveling North until 25mph signs of city residental area. When traveling South it’s 25mph as posted(in residential area), but where it is 55mph for the north bound the speed limit remains 25mph south bound until you reach the 55mph sign down the street. The same stretch of road has two different speed limits. If you’re traveling southbound be careful not to increase your speed until you have reached that 55mph sign. Even though you are traveling away from the city and know where you made the decrease in speed entering it is not the same exiting.

Traveling South on M-43, as you leave Richland, the speed limit drops to 25mph. In short order, the speed limit is increased back to 55mph, but the two to three blocks where it is 25 are heavily patrolled.
