Vandercook Lake, Michigan Speed Traps

Traveling West into Vandercook Lake from the 127 & M50 speed limit changes from 40mph to 30 mph and is strictly enforced. Several marked black & whites work the area. An occasional black stealth unmarked is used also. Road is the major entry and exit for Jackson Community College and used for the southern most entry into the Jackson area. Tickets are not uncommon at 34-36 miles per hour. It is a 4 lane road which makes you feel comfortable driving at a much faster speed which and can find yourself traveling 45mph because you missed the single speed limit sign when entering the The Vandercook Lake area. There are alot of kids around this area being the schools are in the general area so some justification for heavier patrols should be tolerated.
