Clifton, Arizona Speed Traps

Deputy parked on side of road on a hill in the dark with his lights off. Got me for 54 in a 45. One of many speed traps I spotted (this one too late!) on US and State roads east of Phoenix to NM. Advice: Every town and county in AZ wants to fleece tourists on speeding. Forget the scenery, don’t get off the freeway unless you have to. Spend your tourist $$$ in CA or NM instead!

Road transitions from 65 mph divided highway down to 25 mph narrow street in town at the bottom of the hill. this road has high traffic, lots of mine workers commuting to and from work, shiftworkers, lotsa tired people on the road, so it can be dangerous. if it’s rush hour the traffic will likely slow down in the town. If not, pay attention to your speed, because they do enforce it.
