Derhake Road near S. Waterford Drive

This is on a pretty residential street. However, Derhake, in Florissant, MO is a street between Washington and New Halls Ferry. This street contains at least three schools; with the most popular being North County Technical High School (North Tech). Thus, i’ve seen numerous rowdy (and speedy) high school driver pulled over here (i also attend North Tech).

Florissant Police patrol almost daily on the elementary school parking lot next to Shawnee Lane. Going eastbound on Derhake, police post up on that school’s lot and are blocked by a house and much brush. Florissant Police can also post up on random neighborhood streets, which makes detecting them by eye nearly impossible until you’re on top of them. The limit is 25 MPH–so stay at that (don’t even push 30); this [needless to say] a school zone.

Red light intersection cameras. It is automatically a $100.00 dollar fine. You are sent a copy of the photo which shows the license plate and the intersection lights. Be sure to check whether it really is your car. There have been some mistakes reported on local TV of these tickets being sent to the wrong person. Of course, if there are more than one person who drives the car, how can they prove who was driving, so who should pay? The photo does not show the face. This forced us to keep records of when each of our teens was driving the car and at what time. Perhaps the traffic court should have to prove who was driving. I am innocent until proven guilty.

Lindbergh Boulevard near New Halls Ferry Road

South Bound Lindbergh [HWY 67] from unincorporated STL county coming upon the Florissant city boundary, there is a grocery store [ShopNSave] on the west side of the road [on the right when headed south into Florissant]. FPD likes to sit right across the line among the delivery trucks at the store as the speed limit drops coming out of unincorporated STL county. Seems to usually be AM rush hour, but watch them. They have easy access to Lindbergh since that is used for the large delivery trucks, and the speed limit drops so quickly through there.
