Nixa and Mt Vernon

Nixa, MissouriJan 03, 20170 Comments

As soon as you go through the stoplight and mt Vernon the speed limit switches into the 40s from the 30s. Police officers seem to like to stop you as the speed limit is switching over to the 40s and peg you with an 11 to 15 mph over ticket.

East Kings Carriage Boulevard near Tiffany Boulevard

Nixa, MissouriDec 10, 20070 Comments

As you are traveling east on Kings Carriage Blvd the road turns into a divided road for a distance of about 1 block right before you get to Tiffany Blvd. The road is downhill at that point and there are no speed limit signs posted and it is very easy to exceed the citywide speed limit of 25 mph in residential areas. The policeman is usually sitting in one of several private driveways at the bottom of the hill, right past the intersection of Tiffany. There are trees planted in the median where Kings Carriage divides which makes the policeman’s car very hard to see while you are going down the hill. You do not realize until it is too late that he is even there, especially since he sits in private driveways. The have a car there almost evey day, early in the morning during the week. Never on the weekend though, trying to catch folks on their way to work. Remember, keep your speed to 25 MPH.

State Highway 14 near State Highway 160/Campbell

Nixa, MissouriFeb 09, 20050 Comments

All along highway 14, after the speed limit slows to 45 and then 30 (when going towards Nixa from Ozark), there are heavy speed traps, especially in the 30 MPH zone. The speed traps also extend to Campbell (160) for about a mile or two in either direction of the highway 14/Mount. Vernon street intersecton.

The location of speed traps seem to vary day-to-day, but they are always there in these locations, so keep your eyes peeled, especially for unmarked cruisers.
