US 89 into and out of Page

Page, ArizonaMar 03, 20110 Comments

I have lived here for two years and the comments are true. You have multiple police forces, municipal police, county sheriffs, state highway patrol, and the police from the Navajo reservation. They are constantly ticketing in city limits and just outside of them. Mostly tourist through here and it’s designated one of the most remoted locations in the United States. All the police forces are meeting quotas around here, watch out. I’m local to the area and know what I’m talking about.

US Highway 89 near Mile Marker 680

Highway Patrol uses this area to meet its quota, I’m sure they go over every month. South of Page, just before you enter the city limits. They know people have been driving a long time and are apt to be exceeding the speed limit a little here as they are hungry and tired, anxious to be fed and find a bathroom.

US Highway US 89 near Bridge

The National Park Service and the Arizona Dept of Public Safety commonly set at either end of the Bridge that crosses the Colorado River right near Glean Canyon Dam (Lake Powell). The speed limit is 25 and if you are coming from the North heading Southbound, you usually can’t see them until it it too late. Also beware of the Port of Entry in this area. DPS has a tendency to run radar behind the building so you can’t see them util it’s too late.
