Sahuarita Road east of Interstate 19

City police target out of state plates and give a ticket knowing you will likely not return to contest it. In my case I was traveling as slow as the slowest vehicles and cars were passing me. They issued a ticket that does not count points, and is not reported to the state etc.. they just want your money In this case $160 to be mailed to the court. The speed limit on the 4 lane highway is 35. Motorcycle policeman said I was going 45. If I was the vehicle I was following was also.. and the cars passing me were obviously traveling faster thus i am almost certain it was my out of state plate.

The Sahuarita police sit at many places on this road which goes between Nogales Highway (stoplight) on the north to turning into Continental Road on the south. They also cruise it with approaching and following radar.

Interstate I-19 near Continental Road

New town in Southern Arizona that preys on unsuspecting N or S bound drivers on Interstate 19 between Continental Road on the south and Sahuarita Road on the north. Cops sit in median concealed by trees or grade and stop those vehicles traveling at speeds in excess of 65 mph in that posted speed on I-19 is 75 until town limits and reduces to 65. No time for speed adjustment so far as cops are concerned. See speed monitoring and stops during day, but be especially careful after 10 p.m. throughout early morning hours. Be especially careful if entering on access ramp and trying to match speed of vehicles traveling in your direction.

Any excuse will work to pull you over. I was stopped for a license plate light out and the officer started after me Before he could see the back of my car And The Light Was Working Fine. They were obviously looking for drinkers.
