Presnell Street near Gold Hill Road

Asheboro, North CarolinaOct 10, 20180 Comments

Cops wait in patrol or unmarked cars at base of Gold Hill Road (speed limit 55 mph) or to the side of Presnell Street (where speed limit is 35 mph then, as you head west, drops to 25 mph at a steep downhill slope that enters into a residential area). You have to ride your brake to keep your car from naturally accelerating and hope cars behind you (who don’t know about the hill or upcoming speed change yet) do the same.

Not really one particular trap, but both of these highways are crawling with HP and other police. Don’t speed at all on these highways!

Officer sits at the endo of the 4 lane in the median waiting on south bound violaters. You can’t see him because of the bushes until it’s too late. He also sits there at night.

Pressnell Street near Interstate between White Oak st and hwy 73

Asheboro, North CarolinaJul 14, 20080 Comments

Speed limit stays 35 even after you leave the congestion. Understandable as it returns to compact residential across the Hwy, and raising the limit for the 1/2 to 3/4 mile is impracticable. Cops take advantage of peoples natural instint to speed up along there though.
