this section of highway speed reduced to 35 mph gibsonville and Elon police stay here since they reduced the speed to 35 mph after making this a 4 lane Highway it use to be 45 mph for decades. beware you can run 45 at the mall with 8 lanes of traffic and hundreds of cars but here on a one way smooth straight stretch its 35 mph a complete joke!! they have wrote hundreds of tickets since this reduction !! Bought several new police SUVs and cars

As you head down the hill towards the hospital, the Burlington police will sit at the bottom, hidden among the snow plows. They clock you as you head down the hill, then pull you at the bottom.

Beware. The speed limit through there is 35 mph, despite the 5 lanes and no traffic. It’s very easy to exceed the limit, as there is absolutely no reason for that stretch to be 35 mph.

I have gotten pulled over by State Troopers running radar towards the East bound lane from the overpass. Two state troopers are mobile and pulling individuals over.

You go from 45 to 35 at the drop of a hat as you cross the bridge. Since a boy was killed skateboarding down the street, this area is often being watched from the bridge to the church

As you approach Exit 145 on I-40 west, you begin to climb a hill. An SHP likes to sit on the other side of the hill on the right side of the road. They’re usually parked on the v-shaped patch of grass that is next to the 145 onramp. The hill is steep enough that it is easy to come over the crest of the hill at 70mph or more if you aren’t paying attention. Since the cruisers park in the grass at this trap, it is only used on dry days. I have seen this trap set up at all times of the day and night, so it must be a popular one.
