Edenton, North Carolina Speed Traps

This speed trap includes the entire Hwy 17 Bypass around Edenton where the speed limit is 60 Mph. State Troopers run radar or whatever speed clocking devices they use while driving in the left lane while they clock on coming traffic. What makes this a dangerous speed trap is most people assume the speed limit is 65 Mph and run 70 plus. Please be aware of the speed limit. I received my first and only speeding ticket here and also work in Edenton. I did not think I was speeding however the State Trooper did not want to hear any of it. I thought I would be able to get out of the ticket. I was wrong you have to know a "big Shot" in edenton if you want the ticket droped. My advise know the speed limit, know how fast you are going, and don’t speed.

There is a detective in a silver Buick Regal. Watch out. Most of the city cops have radar and are writing for 10 over.
