When you are driving south on Highway 49, the speed limit is 55 MPH, then as you approach Harrisburg, it goes down to 50 MPH then to 35 MPH.
When you are driving north from Charlotte, it goes from 55 MPH to 35 MPH, with no time to slow down without slamming on the brakes.
The speed limit used to be 45 MPH through then entire town. There are only businesses on this portion of Highway 49.

When turning onto Shamrock Road from 49, the speed limit is 45. As you approach the housing developments, the speed limit drops to 35. There usually is a cop hiding near the 35 mph sign. The neighborhood people constantly complain about speeders so they set up frequent traps!
