Hillsborough, North Carolina Speed Traps

On my family’s drive back from Durham we were pulled over between mile markers 150 and 149 on I-40W and given a ticket for speeding after 3 police officers hiding their cruisers behind a tow trailer, while using a laser gun trying to catch interstate speeders heading towards Charlotte, NC. The officer that used the laser gun was literally celebrating and “yes, got you” while pointing at our vehicle. The officer who pulled us over didn’t even try to take proof of insurance. The officer even confessed that the purpose of the tow trailer is for the cops to hide behind and catch speeders and admitted that there’s nothing wrong with this tactic. Hope this info helps!

Trooper sits on bridge over the highway. Radar is pointed at the east bound traffic approaching the overpass. Chaser care are in the ramp beyond the overpass, approaching motorists cannot see the chase cars until it is way too late.

Trooper is waiting on exit to catch speeders traveling eastbound on I-40. Another trooper is at the weigh station just after. They could both be looking for trucks who skip the weigh station or my guess is one is looking for cars, the other trucks.

When going down highway 57, the cops like to sit ontop of the hill in the church parking lot.

I-40 Westbound past exit 261 (Hillsborough) up the hill the Interstate separates to merge with I-85, Troopers are on the right in the grass sometimes in numbers.
