Meadow Creek Church Road near Twin Oaks Circle

The City of Locust Police will sit in the parking lot of the VFW which is shady so that you cannot see them very well. This is a rural road that does have some curves and hills but shouldn’t be 35mph. They routinely catch people in this area.

The corridor between the Stanly County Line and Renee Ford Road is constantly patroled by the local police. The speed limit drops twice in this area. You regularly see people stopped here. Be very careful to observe the speed limits coming into Locust.

City of Locust Police sit just over the county line when where the limit drops from 55 to 45. This is 2 miles out of town in a rural area, straight road and not many houses.

Locust town police set up in median near the Stanly County Community College just to the west of town limits (at the end of 4 lane section) almost every day…especially during heavy commuting periods (7-9am and 4-7pm). They also set up at the east end of town near the 55-35mph change and pick off cars as they crest the hill. The police in this tiny town have nothing to do but write tickets, and their aggression and offensive behavior towards motorists demonstrate it on a daily basis to those of us who are unfortunate enough to have to commute through this town.
