16 Avenue near L Street

Patrol car will sit on the sidewalk or driveway facing the eastbound traffic coming into town. Especially dangerous at night, you will never see them sitting there. Speed limit is 25, but speeds of 35 are easy to reach in this stretch. You won’t get much of a break, as this is a posted residential area.

NOTE: You will also see Wall Twp patrol cars on this same stretch of road.

State Highway 35 near L Street

Patrol cars sit in Maclearie Park parking lot facing the southbound RT 35 traffic. Speed limit is 35, but you can easily hit 45 in this spot. I see them any given day at any time, but most enforcement is after dark and on Fri & Sat. Slow down when approaching the "L" Street traffic light!

Rt 35 – Maclearie Park

Belmar, New JerseyMay 11, 20030 Comments

Cars sit just inside the entrance to the park, usually facing the Rt 35 northbound traffic. Posted limit is 35. Slow down once you pass the RT 71 light. This is mostly a night time spot, with summer weekends a guarantee. Be aware, they sometimes sit facing the southbound Rt 35 traffic, at the exit of the park, so slow down once you pass the Belmar Blvd-16th Street light. Also, Belmar cars are hard to see at night, especially the "stealth" car that is usually used at this position. Almost all use Ka-band, and they never leave it on, always using their instant on switch, leaving you absolutely no time to react, radar detector, or not.
