Fairfield, New Jersey Speed Traps
end of Beverly Road by Passaic Avenue
Beverly Road has a 25 mph speed limit & a downhill before reaching Passaic. The cops sit at the bottom in the morning & pull people over who are hurrying on their way to work.
New Dutch Lane and Eldridge Road
Cop sits at the end of Eldridge Rd, facing Passaic Ave, sometimes in unmarked car and sometimes with lights off at night. Make sure not to roll through the various stop signs from the side streets joining Eldridge Rd, and don’t floor it on the way to Passaic.
Horseneck Road near Hook Mountain Road
Traveling west on Horseneck Rd. towards the bridge entering Montville near the shooting range, or traveling east from Montville and crossing over the bridge into Fairfield, there is usually a Fairfield marked squad car parked off to the side near the woods with radar. Sometimes they are parked across from the shooting range and other times they are parked off to the side past the shooting range. Beware!
New Dutch Lane near Midpoint at Old Factory
Police will sit back from the road in the pull-off area of the old factory. Usually facing east.
Route 46 near Passaic Avenue exit
Although the speed trap is visible from afar during the day, the darkness of night is another story. A squad car without any lights on is very hard to spot at night. The speed limit for the area is 50 mph
