Kenilworth, New Jersey Speed Traps
Galloping Hill Rd & Garden State Pkwy
There will sometimes be an unmarked SUV parked in the cemetary entrance right when you pass Shering Plough, as if he was exiting the cemetery just waiting to pull out. You will not see him until you clear that bend. It will appear to be just a civilian just getting ready to leave his visit to his mother’s grave until WAM, instant on radar. He uses with a Stalker ATR radar gun (Instant On for all you radar detector junkies), and it is low powered with a very narrow beam so you may not pick up scatter until you are right on top of him. Be careful because the PSL is 25, and most do 40-45. Slow it down once you pass Shering.

There is periodic enforcement of the 25MPH along a mile-and-a half stretch from GSP Exit 138 and the Cranford town line. Cars (black & white) park alongside the street, blending in with parked cars. Police also park alongside the road to catch drivers who violate the recently imposed No Left Turn at 14th St. and The Boulevard. The prohibition extends from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., every day. A police officer told me the left turn restriction was warranted by frequent accidents at the intersection. This enforcement is frequent and strict.

Radar extends from Kenilworth into Cranford on this road, which is 25 MPH. Both towns enforce EVERYDAY…even at 3AM.
