Elk Lake Dr at the entrance to Beaver Lake Park

Victoria, British ColumbiaMay 24, 20140 Comments

The cops stand in the gravel parking lot opposite the entrance to Beaver Lake Park hidden behind parked vehicles and nail people going south. It’s a great money maker for them since it’s a long straight stretch with a ridiculous 50km/h limit and most people just got off the highway so they tend to drive faster.

Henderson Rd by Uplands school

Victoria, British ColumbiaAug 31, 20110 Comments

This road is the main entrance to UVic and is set to 40km/hr which is ridiculous, but there is also a school zone of 30km/hr that they set up on both sides of. This school closed 5 years ago but they kept the 30 limit. All hours of the day but especially evenings between 8 & midnight catching all the students going back to residence.

North and South bound on Malahat

Victoria, British ColumbiaAug 18, 20110 Comments

There has been an occasional speed trap setup just as you approach the first
climb of the Malahat going south. This is usually around Bamberton, they
have 3+ chase cars parked on the on ramp, with an officer with a laser picking
drivers off as they round the last corner on flat roadway where folks are usually
trying to build speed to get up the hill. On the North bound lanes, they have
been doing both nighttime and daytime "inspections" on the first passing lane
once you’ve climbed out of Goldstream. They narrow the two lanes down to one
and channel everyone through an inspection lane, again with 4+ chase cars.
