Pemberton, New Jersey Speed Traps

Thank you to all the people who go to the shore via our town. The cops here are brutal. My guess is that they write over $900,000 in tickets a year. Speed is 45 then 40 then 30. Also don’t try to drive on the left side of the cars backed up at the light, the hash yellow lines are a sure ticket. 25 mph thru main st for a mile. Always hiding byLabars Lock Shop, Hardware store and the fire house. The Court is always overflowing on ticket night. Pay or wait 6-8 hours.

Speed limit drops from 50 to 35, and the road narrows approaching Pemberton from the west. Police cars often wait in the businesses that line the road to ticket motorists who are not quick enough to slow down.

The speed along this area, heading east out of Pemberton Boro varies between 25 and 45 mph, largely, it appears on the race and economic status of the property owners along the road. Both Boro and Township cruisers lurk in the bank parking lot at the east end of Elizabeth Street to pick off motorists going in either direction who either speed up too quickly or slow down too slowly.

This is the main street of the town of Pemberton Borough. This town is about one square mile with two patrol cars out at almost all times.
