Sparta, New Jersey Speed Traps

Most of the freeway part of Rt. 15 is in Sparta Township, and Sparta Township Police enforce speeding strictly. The Police Hq is right off Route 15, and they have their own hidden entrance from the station to Rt.15. They are always there!

The cops like to sit by the billboards on Lafayette Road. It is just before you get to the Skyview golf course. If you are heading north from the center of town they will have you on radar before you see them tucked away. I got pulled over and given a warning but a friend of mine got a ticket in the same spot.

Just as you come down the hill (sometimes before as well) there are always cops there to catch you because unless you ride your brakes constantly you’ll gain speed down the hill.

Sparta will sometimes give you a warning if you are COMPLETELY HONEST, own up to your stupidity, you may dodge that ticket.

Cops like to sit in the dirt area across from Aurora Electric near Route 15. Speed limit is 40 and its easy to do 55 or so in this area. They will usually sit there at night because you cant see them until it’s too late

They sit with their cars parked across several lanes at the beaches to get you as you’re driving over the hilly roads… crest a hill too fast and receive your 4×9 greeting card.
