Greenwood Avenue near Doty Road

Wanaque, New JerseySep 17, 20070 Comments

Cops know that people try to avoid the traffic on Ringwood Avenue by taking Greenwood Avenue in between Union Boulevard and Doty Road. If you come down Greenwood from Union, the road curves to the right with a slight decline. Cops are usually on the side of the road between the telephone poles and hidden against the brush. Speed Limit is 25 and it’s hard to do 25 when there’s no other cars on that road. You WILL get a ticket if you get pulled over here.

Use caution when driving through Wanaque, they are constantly ripping up the roads in this town. They often set up detours and the cops hide in the side streets where the traffic has to drive through.

A few years ago I was going through a detour by the candle factory (Back Beach Park area) there was a stop sign and the connecting road was blocked so there was no traffic to stop for, the car in front of me and myself did rolling stops, there was a cop standing behind a tree he pulled both of us over and gave us tickets for failure to stop.

Beware in detours!
